We are honored and excited to announce this new initiative with the Oslo-based browser specialist, Opera Software.
Together, Opera and GooMe intend to deliver browser-based solutions for experiencing TV, Web and home media via IPTV and/or hybrid delivery.
GooMe’s partnership with Opera came about when Opera executives saw GooMe’s Over-The-Top solution, M Cube, running on Opera’s browser at IBC in September. Opera’s team was excited by the optimal use of the Opera browser and by the user experience we have managed to create. This lead to initial discussions, where it became clear that Opera and GooMe share a common vision for Web TV and Content distribution, driven by an open environment and an easy user experience.
Through this partnership, operators, ISPs and OEMs will finally be able to offer value-added Web-based content and services, either through a Set-Top Box or directly through a connected TV. The Opera GooMe turnkey solution also enables improving the graphic capabilities and simplifying the porting of the solution to any browser-based device – Set-Top Box, TV, PC, Mobile phone – facilitating a real opportunity for ‘TV Anywhere’ convergence.
Visitors to CES are invited to Opera’s booth to experience the joint Opera – GooMe offering (South Hall 4, Upper Level, #35571).
